Boat Detailing, answered locally

How often does a boat kept in a Jupiter slip need detailing?

A weekly or biweekly wash is normal for a slipped boat here. Full compound and wax runs twice a year for most owners. Boats on a lift or a trailer stretch further, but the sun does the same damage either way.

Is ceramic coating worth it in this climate?

It holds up better than wax against the UV load we get, and it makes weekly washes faster. It is not a substitute for washing. Anyone selling it as a way to stop cleaning your boat is overselling it.

Can a detailer work on my boat at the marina?

Most marinas in the corridor allow contractor access, but many require the vendor to be on file with a certificate of insurance naming the marina. Every detailer on this site already carries a COI, which usually shortens that step.
